Black Sabbath

Black Sabbath (in French Sabbat Noir) is a British heavy metal band founded in 1968 in Birmingham, United Kingdom. It is one of the founding bands of metal and is often considered the first band of the genre. The original line-up of Black Sabbath consisted of Tony Iommi on guitar, Ozzy Osbourne on vocals (who would later go back and forth between the band and his solo career), Geezer Butler on bass and Bill Ward on drums. However, the band went through several reshuffles, with nearly twenty former members, among whom one can name Ronnie James Dio, Tony Martin, Ian Gillan, Cozy Powell and Glenn Hughes. Tony Iommi is the only member to have been present since the beginning without interruption.
