Tool

Tool [tʰuːl] Listen is an American progressive metal band from Los Angeles, California. Formed in 1990 by singer Maynard James Keenan, guitarist Adam Jones, drummer Danny Carey and bassist Paul D'Amour. The latter left the band in 1995 to be replaced by Justin Chancellor of the British band Peach shortly before the recording of their second album, Ænima. This band borrows its power from heavy metal, its emotional charge from progressive rock, and the ability to create a full and captivating atmosphere from psychedelic rock. They released their first studio album, Undertow, in 1993, followed in 1996 by a second album, titled Ænima, which would make the band known in the alternative metal scene.
