Apostle

Apostle, first and only Vegan Death Metal band. Originally from Sweden, the band recorded a single album, Dusk For Conveniences, on Abstarction/Comunication in '99. Since then it has been radio silence. Musically, Apostle played a death metal closer to the American style than the Swedish style. There are nods to Suffocation, Deicide and many others. There is a lot of blasting, but it does not dominate. There are slower tracks ("Code Red") and a few black metal marches (that is, the second half of "The Final Regret"). Most of the album is played at a comfortable three-quarter tempo, with super-heavy riffs reminiscent of Vader or Krisiun. The best comparison might be Seance, another Swedish band that could easily shift up a gear.
