In This Moment

In This Moment is a Californian metalcore band formed in 2005 around singer Maria Brink and guitarist Chris Howorth, who were soon joined by drummer Jeff Fabb, bassist Jesse Landry and guitarist Blake Bunzel. Their first opus, Beautiful Tragedy, was released in 2007. The style of this album falls within the metalcore movement, with various aspects of alternative metal, and Maria's singing is very recognizable, going from screams to clean vocals on every track. Their second album, released in September 2008 and titled The Dream, shows a change in musical direction. Even though it can be classified in the death metal category, it leans more toward heavy metal than its predecessor. Moreover, Maria mostly uses clean vocals except on the tracks "The Great Divide" and "Violet Skies".
