Mortician

Mortician is a Deathgrind band from New York formed in 1989. Mortician's tracks are intense, short and fast, the hallmark of the death-metal/grind genre. In terms of instruments, the guitars and bass, distorted, are accompanied by a drum machine, while the vocals move in a very guttural register. Mortician's originality is that on the band's albums, many tracks are built around samples taken from very specific scenes of horror or terror films ("Night of the Living Dead", "The Shining", "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre", etc.). These samples, together with the band's sound and the singer's cavernous voice, add to the macabre and murky atmosphere that emanates from every album.
