Trivium

Trivium formed in 2000. During a talent contest held at his high school, Lake Brantley High School, Matt Heafy took on a cover of the song No Leaf Clover by Metallica. Singer Brad Lewter then noticed Heafy and asked him to join his band. The two joined drummer Travis Smith at his home and played a cover of the Metallica song For Whom the Bell Tolls. Impressed by Heafy's performance, they formed the band under the name Trivium, a word that explains their musical characteristics: a mix between metalcore, melodic death metal and thrash metal. After a few nights in bars and clubs, Lewter left the band and Heafy took over his role as singer.
