Living Death

Living Death was formed in 1981 in Velbert, North Rhine-Westphalia, by the brothers Reiner and Dieter Kelch, and Frank Fricke, initially as a heavy metal band. In 1981, drummer Frank Schubring and singer Thorsten "Toto" Bergmann joined the band. A year later, in 1982, they recorded their first self-titled demo, then signed to the Earthshaker label in 1983. Later that year, Frank Schubring left the band and was replaced by Harald Lutze. In 1984, Living Death released their first studio album, Vengeance of Hell which, despite its low production quality, sold well. Living Death then went on tour in support of Warlock; after which they sacked drummer Harald Lutze, who was replaced by Andreas Overhoff. In January 1985, they released the EP Watch-Out! which includes three songs remixed from their first LP.
