WebsiteGreat White is an American hard rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1978 by Jack Russell and Mark Kendall. The band enjoyed very great popularity during the 1980s and the early 1990s. Alongside compositions in a fairly classic format (blues-tinged hard rock), they stood out for numerous covers: Substitute by the Who on the album Great White in 1984, Face the Day by Angel City and Gimme Some Lovin by the Spencer Davis Group on Shot in the Dark in 1986, Once Bitten Twice Shy by Mott the Hoople on ...Twice Shy in 1989, Can't Shake it by Angel City on Hooker in 1991, Down at the Doctor by Doctor Feelgood on the maxi The Blue E.P. in 1991, as well as albums made up entirely of covers: Recovery: Live, released in 1987, Great Zeppelin in 1999 as a tribute to Led Zeppelin, and Recover in 2002.
