Website
Riot is an American heavy metal band founded in 1975 by Mark Reale. In 1977, the band released its first album, "Rock City", and that same year L. A. Kouvaris was replaced by guitarist Rick Ventura. In 1979, they recorded their second album "Narita". They began to tour as the opening act for bands that already had a well-established reputation, such as AC/DC or Molly Hatchet. Two years later, in 1981, the band released its third album "Fire Down Under". Fire Down Under would remain the band's reference album since it was considered by critics as one of the best hard rock albums of the early 80s. Rhett Forrester was murdered on 22 January 1994. He intervened to prevent men from stealing his vehicle. His killers were never arrested. Mark Reale died on 25 January 2012.

Johnny

Riot's mascot, nicknamed Johnny (a sort of seal-headed man), is surely one of the most reviled in the Metal world. And the mostly horribly ugly album covers certainly didn't help.
