Website
Led Zeppelin is a British rock band founded in 1968 in London by Jimmy Page (guitar), with Robert Plant (vocals), John Paul Jones (bass, keyboards) and John Bonham (drums), and disbanded following the death of the latter in 1980. Through a sound dominated by the virtuosity and riffs of its guitarist, the powerful voice of its singer capable of reaching very high octaves, the excellence of its bassist/keyboardist, as well as the technique, the groove and the inimitable and so often sampled "striking force" of its drummer, Led Zeppelin is regarded as one of the first hard rock bands, and as one of the pioneers of heavy metal, along with Deep Purple and Black Sabbath. Thirty years after its break-up, Led Zeppelin is still considered one of the greatest rock bands, both for its influence and its prestige.
