Overdose is one of the oldest Brazilian thrash metal bands. It was founded by Baza and Claudio David in the 1980s in Belo Horizonte, and took its final line-up in 1985. As they did not yet have enough songs, a first LP came out in 1985, in partnership with another young Brazilian band: Sepultura. While their comrades would become one of the flagship bands of the metal scene, Overdose had only local success. Their album Circus Of Death (1992) received a good international reception. In 1995 came out Overdose's last album, Scars. Despite the arrival of former Sepultura guitarist Jairo Guedz, the band split up in 1997.
