Svartsot

Svartsot is a Danish folk metal band, founded in 2005 in Randers. Svartsot mixes death and black metal with a contribution of folk music. On December 17, 2008, Michael Lundquist Andersen, Niels Thøgersen, Claus B. Gnudtzmann and Martin Kielland-Brandt announced they were leaving the band due to diverging opinions on the band's musical direction. On February 22, 2009, Svartsot presented its new line-up as being complete. Stewart Lewis was replaced for concerts but remains considered a full member. In 2010, the band released a new album: Mulmets Viser, on the Napalm Records label. Despite the fact that Cristoffer J.S. Frederiksen is the only original member of the band, his position as guitarist, composer and lyricist leaves the band with its original musical identity.
