Fields of the Nephilim

Fields of the Nephilim is a gothic rock band formed in 1984 in Stevenage (Hertfordshire), United Kingdom. The band's name refers to biblical giants or angels – hybrid humans – known as the "nephilim". The band's essence proved very influential, especially for the gothic rock genre and, later, darkwave, death rock, gothic metal and, in general, "dark"-inspired rock. Even though Fields of the Nephilim did not generate substantial commercial success with the general public, the high quality of its music and its status as a cult band are undeniable.
