The Letter Black, formerly known as Breaking the Silence, is an American Christian rock band formed in 2006 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. The band consists of lead singer Sarah Anthony; her husband, guitarist and singer Mark Anthony; bassist Matt Beal and drummer William Fowler. The band's first album, Hanging On By a Thread, was released on 4 May 2010 via Tooth & Nail Records, placing The Letter Black at number 8 in the rock section of iTunes the same day.
