Pänzer

Panzer, also known as The German Panzer, is a German band formed in 2014 by Schmier of Destruction, Hermann Frank of Accept and Stephan Swarzmann, who also played in Accept. The band is based on an idea of drummer Stefan Schwarzmann, who has already played with Running Wild, U.D.O., Accept and Helloween. Schwarzmann discussed this idea with Norbert Mandel, the operator of the Z7 club in Pratteln, Switzerland. Mandel suggested a trio with guitarist Herman Frank (including Accept and Victory). Marcel "Schmier" Schirmer of the band Destruction was recruited for the post of singer and bassist. The group was initially called Panzer. In spring 2014, the band recorded with producer V.O. Pulver; they recorded their first album before Panzer was signed by the German label Nuclear Blast in September of the same year.
