Website
Bolt Thrower is a British Death metal band founded in 1986 by Barry Thomson and Gavin Ward. Originating from Birmingham, it was associated with the grindcore wave because of a series of Peel Sessions for the BBC and "In Battle There Is No Law", a poorly produced first album. Since then, Bolt Thrower has forged a sound and a reputation despite frequent changes of singer. Their lyrics deal, exclusively, with war and are largely inspired (as is their iconography) by the fictional universes of Warhammer 40,000. Games Workshop even produced them for a time via a subsidiary, Warhammer Records.
