Ronnie James Dio

On 25 November 2009, his wife and manager Wendy announced that he had been diagnosed with stomach cancer. After a major surgical operation, Dio began a series of chemotherapy treatments. But his condition deteriorated sharply and, in early May 2010, the Heaven & Hell concerts planned for the summer were cancelled because of his health. Ronnie James Dio died on 16 May 2010 from his cancer in Houston.
