Until The Light Takes Us

Until The Light Takes Us is a documentary about Norwegian black metal. The film features interviews with the instigators of black metal including Varg Vikernes, who was interviewed in the prison where he is incarcerated following the murder of guitarist Euronymous. The documentary tries to reveal the truth behind the church burnings and the murders committed by young musicians labelled "Satanists" by the media but who, in reality, had entirely different motives. It focuses above all on the emergence and evolution of the genre and on the individuals who created it. The documentary's title is a reference to the Burzum album Hvis Lyset Tar Oss, of which it is an English translation.
