Chuck Schuldiner

During the summer of 1999, Schuldiner felt a persistent pain at the top of his neck and consulted a chiropractor, then a physiotherapist. On his thirty-second birthday, on May 13, 1999, he was diagnosed with a pontine glioma. Schuldiner received a chemotherapy treatment called Vincristine. Like most drugs used in chemotherapy, the side effects were terrible and Schuldiner found himself greatly weakened. Stubborn, Schuldiner fought on. Toward the end of October or the beginning of November, Schuldiner caught pneumonia. He died on December 13, 2001, at around 4 o'clock in the afternoon.
