Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1994, Iron Maiden gave three charity concerts for him at the Brixton Academy in March 2002. Two other shows were given: on September 9, 2005, at the Odeon Hammersmith and on June 24, 2007, at the Brixton Academy. All the proceeds from the concerts and the single were donated to the Clive Aid foundation. Toward the end of his life, Clive Burr got around in a wheelchair. Clive Burr died during the night of March 12 to 13, 2013, at the age of 56. His funeral took place on March 25, 2013, at a London crematorium. He was the last surviving musician of the original line-up of Samson, with which he made his professional debut in 1978.
