Shortly after the release of the live album "Saints Will Conquer" in 1989, the band decided to replace Phil Sandoval with Jeff Duncan. The band had begun writing and recording a four-track demo for the next album when guitarist Dave Prichard learned that he had leukemia. Before Armored Saint could enter the studio to record, Dave Prichard died.
