Eddie Van Halen

A heavy smoker, Eddie Van Halen developed mouth cancer in 2000 and, as treatment, underwent the removal of a third of his tongue. He died on October 6, 2020, at the age of 65, from the effects of his cancer. His death was announced the same day on the Twitter account of his son Wolfgang: "I can't believe I'm writing this, but my father, Edward Lodewijk Van Halen, lost his long and difficult battle with cancer this morning."
