Eric Carr

In February 1991, after the end of the "Hot in the Shade" tour, Eric fell ill. Suffering from fever and coughing, he thought he had the flu. But as his condition worsened, fearing he had contracted pneumonia, he consulted a doctor for a chest X-ray. Eventually referred to a cardiologist, the latter found the presence of a tumor in the heart. Eric learned that the cancer had spread to his lungs: he then had to undergo chemotherapy. But in September, Eric suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and fell into a coma a few days later. After days of struggle, a second cerebral hemorrhage got the better of him on Sunday, November 24, 1991. Eric Carr was buried in New York on November 30, 1991.
