John Bonham

England · Batterie

Real name: John Henry Bonham

Country: England (EN)

Born: May 31, 1948 — Died: September 25, 1980

Cause of death: Fatal alcohol poisoning

Instruments: Batterie

His career ended abruptly, at 32. Although he had always been known as a heavy drinker, John, while going out for a heavily boozy evening on September 24, 1980, reportedly drank 40 shots of vodka in just four hours. A bit dazed and more or less in his normal state, he called a taxi to go to Page's country house, where a friend helped him get to bed. During the night, he vomited while unconscious and choked. The next morning, Benji Lefevre, Robert Plant's assistant, found him lifeless in his bed.
