Randy Rhoads

On the road between Knoxville and Orlando, the band stopped at the property of its bus driver. He, holding a pilot's licence and owning a small Beechcraft Bonanza F-35 aircraft, offered to take people up for a short flight. It was for the second flight that Randy and Rachel Youngblood, the tour's hairdresser, boarded the plane. The problem was that the pilot amused himself with hedge-hopping, but a bit too much in fact. On the fourth pass the plane struck the tour bus, then a pine tree, then crashed. Randy was 25 years old.
