220 Volt

220 Volt was formed in April 1979 in Östersund by guitarists Thomas Drevin and Mats Karlsson, during a game of mini-golf. The band began playing internationally in 1980, entered a recording studio for the first time in 1982, and ended up playing on stage with Heavy Load. In 1982, they recorded seven demos. The results were positive, and in September, Kjell Björk of Guntans Records approved the songs Sauron, Prisoner of War, White Powder, In The Night and Stand By For Action. Two songs would be released on 45 rpm (Prisoner of War b/w Sauron) in November. The band's first studio album, 220 Volts, was released in 1983 by the label CBS Record, and was produced by Thomas Witt.
