Aborted is a Belgian brutal death metal band originating from Waregem, in the Flemish Region. The band was formed in 1995 by singer Sven de Caluwé. Their songs' main subject is death and violence, using vocabulary that is often medical. The name Aborted was chosen so as to be first in the CD racks. In 15 years of career and seven studio albums produced, Aborted is a world-renowned brutal death metal band and ranks among the best-known underground bands of the European scene of that genre. The band has a fan base, who named themselves the Aborted Army.
