WebsiteAlestorm is a Scottish pirate Metal band formed in 2004 whose name can be translated as "Beer Storm" (Ale being "top-fermented" beer). First known as Battleheart, the band changed its name to Alestorm on 8 August 2007. A pioneer of the pirate Metal movement of the 2010s, the band's compositions refer to the world of piracy, both in their sounds and in their lyrics and visual universe. Battleheart was at first a group of friends playing power Metal with a distinctive sound. Under that name, they wrote many songs and released two independent EPs.
