Algaion

The band formed in 1992 and recorded its first demo in late 1993. A second demo in 1994, on the strength of which it was signed by Fullmoon Productions USA. Algaion recorded its first album, OIMAI Algeiou, at the Abyss Studio in 1994. It was subsequently signed to Wounded Love Records in 1995. That said, if one sets aside the purely historical aspect, the fact remains that Algaion was not exactly part of the elite (or the top of the heap) either, and its flamboyance seems to me far more indebted to the era than to its intrinsic qualities. But, because there is a but, it feels so good to take in a big helping of the black sound of that period, in all its youthful purity, that one can only thank Regain Records for having pulled this album out of the mass grave.
