Apocalypse

The band was formed in 1984 in Geneva. Its first eponymous album came out in 1988; after that, the band went on tour with, among others, Metallica. They came back in 1993 with a second album and in 1994 split up. Apocalypse toured, among others, with Coroner, Celtic Frost, Drifter, Rage, Running Wild and... Metallica, in Switzerland. Buoyed by their modest success, the outfit set to work on a second album, "Faithless" (1993), a well-crafted record that saw the tone harden noticeably, this time with a new singer and a style recalling Testament's "The New Order". The overly long delay between the records was a serious handicap that put an end to the meteoric, but oh-so-effervescent, career of our Genevans.
