Adrian Smith (Adrian H Frederik Smith), British musician born on 27 February 1957 in London, is one of the guitarists of the heavy metal band Iron Maiden. In 1990, he was excluded from the band by Steve Harris, due to disagreements over the band's musical direction. The previous year, taking advantage of a break by Iron Maiden, Adrian had recorded a solo album with Adrian Smith and Project (ASaP) called Silver and Gold. This band, formed with former members of Urchin, would not last.
