Autopsy

Autopsy is a death metal band founded in 1987, in California, in the United States, by Chris Reifert, who was previously the drummer of Death (notably on Scream Bloody Gore). Autopsy was born because Chuck Schuldiner went back to Florida to pursue Death's career there, while Chris wanted to stay in California. Despite this disagreement and separation, the two men remained friends. Few bands played death metal when Autopsy was created. Besides its music, original for the time, the band drew attention to itself with particularly bloody covers and lyrics. The band split up in 1995. They reformed in 2009 on the occasion of the Maryland Death Fest.
