The band was long a mainstay of the Californian underground scene before evolving towards a more "accessible" sound and achieving success with the album City of Evil and the self-titled album Avenged Sevenfold. Founded by M. Shadows, Zacky Vengeance, The Rev and Matt Wendt in the late 1990s. The band's current line-up is: M. Shadows on vocals, Synyster Gates on lead guitar, Zacky Vengeance on rhythm guitar, Johnny Christ on bass and Arin Ilejay on drums.

WOW a flying skull! How original! Okay, more seriously, I'm willing to accept it's just a coincidence, but where Charly oozes class, the Deathbat is too... normal. It's just a Photoshop of a skull with bat wings. Where's the style? Where's the work on the illustration? By the way, when A7X (what a shitty abbreviation) started gaining popularity, Overkill started selling t-shirts with the inscription "It's ours, go find yourselves another fucking logo".
