WebsiteBathory is a Swedish metal band formed in 1983, recognized as a pioneer of black metal and viking metal in the late 1980s and early 1990s. It strongly influenced the entire Scandinavian black metal scene. The band was founded by Quorthon, who surrounded himself with musicians such as Fredrick Hanoi, Vans McBurger, Kothaar, Vvornth and Björn Kristensen until the album Destroyer of Worlds, on which Quorthon handled the vocals, electric guitars, bass, drums and synthesizers all at once. Quorthon died on 3 June 2004 in his apartment; he is believed to have died of a heart attack. His death led to the dissolution of Bathory.

Goat
The goat is a symbol of black magic that is one of the most frequent images in Metal iconography. In Black Metal, it is undoubtedly associated with Bathory and the cover of the band's first album. This bust taken from a book about witches also appears on the cover of "Under the Sign of the Black Mark", pasted onto the body of the bodybuilder Leif Ernborgh.
