WebsiteBattle Beast is a Finnish heavy metal band formed in 2008 in Helsinki. They became known by winning the 2011 final of the Wacken Open Air Metal Battle. Their first album Steel was first released in 2011 by the Finnish label Hype Records, then re-released internationally on 27 January 2012 by Nuclear Blast. On 19 August 2012, singer Nitte Vänskä (Nitte Valo by her maiden name) announced in an email sent to the other members that she was leaving the band to devote herself to her family. She was then replaced by Noora Louhimo, and an excerpt of the song Iron Hand performed by the new singer was posted on Youtube. They opened for Nightwish's Imaginaerum World Tour in 2012 (with Nitte on vocals) and then for Sonata Arctica (with Noora on vocals) the same year.
