Behemoth

Behemoth is a Polish blackened death metal band, originating from Gdańsk. Formed in 1991, the band is considered to have played an important role in the emergence of the Polish underground extreme metal. Most of Behemoth's albums are focused on satanic themes, including references to authors such as Aleister Crowley, John Milton and William Blake. Since the late 1990s, the band has adopted a traditional black metal style, with lyrics written by singer Nergal and Krzysztof Azarewicz. Following the release of the album Satanica in 1999, the band showed its presence on the death metal scene.
