Benediction

Benediction is a Death metal band founded in February 1989 in Birmingham, United Kingdom, by Paul Adams (bass), Peter Rew (guitars), Darren Brookes (guitars) and Mark Barney Greenway (vocals). The band's first demo was very quickly noticed by the German label Nuclear Blast, which would allow the release of their first album "Subconscious Terror" as early as 1990, but which would face the departure of Barney Greenway, replaced by Dave Ingram in a rather similar guttural register. The two following works, the very heavy and sinister "The Grand Leveller" and the vehement and brutal "Transcend The Rubicon", finally earned the band greater renown and a place among the safe bets of European death metal.
