Bifröst

Bifröst was founded in late 2005 by Patrick Waldenhofer (vocals), Matthias "van Mattherhorn" Sollak (guitar, keyboard, bagpipes, various folk instruments) and Sebastian Haas (drums). At first they played melodic death metal, but over time increasingly traditional and folk influences emerged until they devoted themselves entirely to pagan metal. The first demo Schlachtenklänge was released in 2006. Two new members, Christopher Mayr (guitar) and Alexander Scharkosi (bass), were then added to the band. After a few appearances, Waldenhofer was replaced by Christoph Lemak. Recording of the first album began in 2008. The album was produced by Stefan Traunmüller. The finished album went to Unit Productions, which released the album in January 2010.
