Kim Bendix Petersen, alias King Diamond, is a Danish metal singer and musician born on 14 June 1956 in Copenhagen. Known thanks to his performances with Mercyful Fate. He began his musical career at 19, as a guitarist in a Danish cover band, Brainstorm. But the future King soon left this band to join Black Rose, another local band. It was there that he began to sing. Discovering Alice Cooper, he also discovered a passion for dark, macabre music and for horrific and theatrical staging.
