WebsiteBon Jovi is an American rock band formed in 1983 in New Jersey. Its name comes from that of the leader and lead singer, Jon Bon Jovi (John Francis Bongiovi, Jr.). The band had a lot of success in the 1980s, and remains the flagship reference of glam metal of the late 80s, being one of the biggest record sellers of the era and one of the bands undertaking the most imposing world tours, notably in terms of number of dates. It has shown greater longevity than the other bands of this so-called "Hair Metal" period by mixing elements of hard, metal, roots, blues, folk and pop.
