Crystal Eyes

Formed in 92 by Mikael Dahl and Niclas Karlsson. Both being songwriters, their first demo was recorded as early as the autumn of the same year. In 1995, the harmony within the band frayed; Niclas and drummer Martin Tilander left to form Fierce Conviction, which became Conviction. They were replaced by Kujtim Gashi, guitarist Jukka Kaupaamaa and bassist Kim Koivo, who would leave before the release of the second demo. After several shows, demos and lineup changes, Crystal Eyes signed their first recording contract in October 1998 with Crazy Life Music. They opened for Candlemass in September 1999, the Motala Metal Festival with Grave Digger on 22 January 2000 and opened for Yngwie Malmsteen in June.
