The band was founded in 1986 by guitarist John Bury and his brother and drummer Phil. In their biography, the band states that their first album was the demo recording Human Wreckage, but as regards the line-up, the band mentions the album Destruction & Mayhem, which was recorded with bassist and singer Stuart Capstick and guitarist Tony Martin around 1987. After its release, the band signed a contract with Noise Records. The line-up then consisted of singer Jason McLoughlin, guitarists Elly and John Bury, bassist Andy Elliot and drummer Phil Bury. After signing the contract, the band entered the studio to record its first album, released in 1989 under the name Human Wreckage.
