Daughters of Sophia

Daughters of Sophia is a French one-man band of atmospheric post-black metal. Formed in 2011, the band has already released two albums. This is its third album and it contains nine songs. "Mayaki" is the first. The opening notes are sad and desperate, mainly thanks to the leads and the soft rhythm section underpinning them. The tempo speeds up slightly, and this gloomy sound shifts from emptiness to a certain anger. Grey clouds pierce the sky, followed by an alternation of rain and calm. "Reina" has more furious notes right from the start, with a dense, overgrown backing sound. The leads create a more charming sound, while the song spends a moment under the warm sun.
