Dave Evans

Dave Evans, born on 7 July 1953, is an Australian singer of British origin who is known for having been the first singer of the rock band AC/DC, from November 1973 to September 1974. Dave Evans joined his first band, In Session, in 1970, in Charters Towers (north Queensland). With this band, he played covers, mainly of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. After moving to Sydney, he became a member of a band called Django. A month later, he answered an advertisement placed by Malcolm Young, who was putting together a new band, AC/DC. In November 1973, after an audition, he was officially recruited as the singer.
