Demons & Wizards

Demons & Wizards is a power metal band considered a side project of Blind Guardian and Iced Earth. It is made up of Blind Guardian singer Hansi Kürsch and Iced Earth guitarist Jon Schaffer. Schaffer writes the music and Kürsch handles the vocals and lyrics. The band's line-up during the recording of their first CD in 2000 also included Mark Prator, who was drummer on several Iced Earth albums, and Jim Morris who handles most of the solos, Morris who also works with Iced Earth. The band's original aim was to blend the style of Iced Earth's dark melodies and the vocal power of Blind Guardian into a single music. In reality, according to the musicians, the band's name describes the two styles: the demonic style of Iced Earth's sound, and the magical sounds and themes of Blind Guardian.
