Die Artze

Die Ärzte is a German punk rock band, originating from Berlin, formed in 1982. The band remains little known outside German-speaking countries. The band's name means "The Doctors" in English. Die Ärzte has a total of 13 studio albums. The band's popularity is closely tied to their very particular sense of humor and their lyrics, which are often provocative. In 1987, their albums Die Ärzte and Debil were placed on the index and some of their songs were banned for minors (Claudia hat 'nen Schäferhund which deals with bestiality, Geschwisterliebe, a song about incest between brother and sister, and Schlaflied which tells the story of a child being eaten by a monster). In defiance, die Ärzte then released, again in 1987, the album Ab 18 ("From 18 years old") which brought together these songs.
