WebsiteEluveitie is a Swiss folk metal/melodic death band created in 2002 by Chrigel Glanzmann; Eluveitie was initially an exclusively studio project. The idea being to blend metal and Celtic music. Following the release of their EP Vên in October 2003, Chrigel decided to make Eluveitie a full-fledged band and recruited nine musicians (some of whom had already taken part in Vên). In 2004 they signed a contract with Fear Dark Records, which distributed their new album, Spirit. In 2008, Eluveitie signed with Nuclear Blast and released (on 15 February 2008) their second album, Slania. The song Inis mona met with major success and strongly contributed to growing the band's popularity.
