Excalibur

Formed in Yorkshire, England, in 1981 by Paul McBride (vocals), Paul Solynskyj (guitar), Martin Hawthorn (bass) and Mick Dobson (drums). The band formed while they were still schoolboys. Conquest Records signed the band in 1985 and the mini-album 'Bitter End' was released in 1985. In 1986, Excalibur hired a 5th member, Steve Blades (guitar, keyboards). In '88, the band released the EP 'Hot For Love' and took part in a BBC television programme, On A Personal Note, where they performed 'Hot For Love' and 'Running Scared' alongside Def Leppard and Little Angels. In 1989, Excalibur signed to Active Records and immediately began recording a first album.
