Excelsis

Excelsis is a Swiss power metal band, from Koppigen, in the canton of Bern. In 1997, they released their first independent studio album, Anduin the River. In 2001, the album Tales of Tell was self-produced and released. In 2008 the album Standing Stone was released, featuring a folk metal sound. They then released the albums Vo chrieger u drache (2013), Chrieger Lieder (2014), and Tod u Vergäutig (2016). Excelsis was formed in 1996 in Koppigen, in Bern, Switzerland. The following year, in 1997, they released their first independent studio album, Anduin the River; it was recorded and mixed by Many Mourer at Sphinx Studios. The album, incorporating the Swiss German dialect for the first time, was released internationally by the Shark Records label.
