The band was formed by bassist Ule W. Ritgen (from the band Zeno) and singer Tommy Heart (from V2). The guitarists were Helge Engelke (1961-2023) and Andy Malecek, and the drummer CC Behrens. In 1991, they released their first album, Fair Warning, on WEA Record. In Japan, they were subsequently voted "revelation of the year" by the readers of BURRN! magazine. After tours in Europe with Giant, they also performed in Japan, which resulted in the live album Live in Japan, released in 1993. In 1995, they released the self-produced album Rainmaker, which, according to Ritgen, sold "about 140,000 or 150,000" copies in Japan and was voted album of the year in the Netherlands by Aardschok magazine.
